"Weiner pleaded guilty Friday to federal charges of transmitting sexual material to a minor and could face a prison term. (He) will also have to register as a sex offender."
Yeah, yeah, he's a pedophile, whoopie-do. We've known that for a while now. What bothers me more in this statement from USAToday, is the improper use of the word 'pleaded'. The proper past tense term for the word plead is pled. "Weiner pled guilty..."
I just can't believe she's filing for divorce now instead of like 5 years ago. Stand by your man - she must have learned (or learnt, if you prefer) that from Hillary. It'll do her about as much good, too.

ReplyDeleteA lot of media organizations use "pleaded." It must be in thr Chicago Manual of Style or something.
ReplyDeleteI too would prefer "pled," but it seems we're in the minority.
