Any attempt to get rid of bump stocks or keep guns away from wifebeaters or the mentally ill gets shouted down as an attack on the 2nd Amendment.
No law can be passed that could potentially result in even a small drop in gun sales, because legislators from both parties are bought and paid for.
The NRA has every right to lobby. They have exercised that right. The result - intended or otherwise - is that any shithead who wants to spray lead around can do it. To fail to take responsibility for your actions doesn't mean you're not responsible. It just means you're irresponsible.
