Well, I take back my previous nomination for stupid political quote of the week. This happened in 2001, but is still a big winner. In the midst of a tribute to Black History Month, the Lt Governor of California (Cruz Bustamante) blurted out the "N-word". He explained later in mortified tones, "I couldn't believe what came out of my mouth." He wasn't the only one. The audience had a bit of a problem with it as well.
