George Plimpton dies. He's the guy who refused to experience sports vicariously like the rest of us. He actually went out there and took some snaps with 300 pound guys trying to knock him down. It's amazing he lived this long, when you think about it.
Here is Plimpton's famous story, The Curious Case of Sidd Finch, which used enough real details to fool many credulous people into thinking it was true.
