South African police will crack down hard on anybody throwing old fridges from high-rise buildings during the New Year's holiday Yeah, they've been a little lax on refrigerator tossing in the past, especially in the apartheid days when the refrigerators were filled with black people. But, what the hell, if that's their tradition, who are we to question the wisdom of their ancient culture?
