Mel Gibson was nearly suicidal. Sure, you can understand Mel getting severely depressed. He has a lot of hardship in his life, and so little to live for. I guess he saw the reviews for The Singing Detective. Well, anyway, Mel Gibson says he used his controversial new film The Passion of the Christ to "heal" his suicidal tendencies after a severe bout of depression.
