As independent filmmakers descended on the Sundance Film Festival, the big buzz was over the fate of Miramax Films and its combative co-chief executives, Bob and Harvey Weinstein. Miramax has been the kingmaker at Sundance, and the greatest economic engine driving the independent film movement. The Weinsteins are expected to leave Miramax to Disney and form a new company.
