I get it. It's Larry King's master plan - he kills everyone else and leaves Stern alive as his patsy! Larry gets a ratings bonanza until the end of his life, and Stern takes the fall. And with Stern under arrest, the police never even think to dust the crime scenes for suspenders. It's genius!
