Bonds hits 741
The Giants have somehow won seven games in a row, despite having the majors' second-least potent offense. (They've scored exactly one more run than the cellar-dwelling Nationals.) Their new, improved pitching staff is the best in the league so far, having allowed only 68 runs in 19 games. 22-year-old Matt Cain has allowed only 11 hits in 29 innings.
