British dentists refuse to treat patients who need dental care

I know this sounds like a joke, but it is true

Dentists "are only paid enough to treat patients with a good dental health record," or (to word it less diplomatically) they will only treat patients who require no treatment. According to the stereotype, that would be a short list in Britain, thus allowing the dentists plenty of leisure time for playing golf or eating shepherd's pie, or whatever it is that idle dentists do in the UK.
