ESPN.com: Bonds may not share mementos with Hall of Fame

Bonds may not share mementos with Hall of Fame
"I'm not worried about the Hall," the San Francisco slugger said during a recent homer drought. "I take care of me."

If he does that, I think the Hall of Fame should have a Bonds exhibit with just one artifact: a syringe. Carve that on his plaque as well.

I always try to defend Barry, because he's not the first great player to be an asshole. Ty Cobb, Rogers Hornsby, Ted Williams, Cap Anson, and many other great Hall of Famers were not lovable human beings and they're in. Cobb and Anson were even bigger assholes than Barry. Barry is not yet in Cobb's league, but he seems to have it in his grasp. All he needs is to beat up a quadriplegic or two and he'll have it. And (sad to say) would anyone be surprised if he did that? I have to think that the combination of steroids-tainted records and ongoing asshattitude is going to piss off a lot of Hall voters - people who love baseball and think Barry only loves himself.

Do you think Bonds will get rejected by the Hall voters? McGwire is an obvious Hall of Famer and the committee rejected him, so they could lock Barry out as well. But Barry from 2000-2004 was the greatest offensive player of all time over a five year stretch. Can the voters turn away performance that overwhelming? You know what? I hope they do.
