I've covered this before in depth. Depends on what you want out of the date. If the object is to see a movie that both people will love, then the best bet is Amelie, a brilliant and beautiful film which is rated 8.5 by men and 8.8 by women at IMDb.If the guy's object is to get laid, then the choice should be Dirty Dancing. It has never failed me, although I hate the movie, and hate even more pretending that I like it. You guys will also despise the movie, but love the results - much like real dancing!
If the object is to have an interesting, heartfelt talk afterwards, then I'd go with Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
