Bush: Job Ratings

Bush approval rating hits lowest level yet
The Newsweek poll recorded its lowest Presidential aproval rating (26%)since Richard Nixon. As recently as September 2005, President Bush was scoring 40% approval in the Newsweek poll. 26% is the lowest Bush has even scored in any of the major polls.

The Gallup organization still shows the President with an approval rating over 30 (32%), and therefore not at a level to challenge any historical records. (His father and Carter dipped lower than 30% at specific points in time, as did Nixon and Truman.)

Here is an interesting and nicely-annotated historical summary of the Gallup scores, if you care to review it. (The plotted points are based on rolling three-month averages, so do not reflect radical highs and lows)
