New View of Doomed Star

"When Eta Carinae does explode, it will be a spectacular fireworks display seen from Earth, perhaps rivaling the moon in brilliance."
To be more accurate, the article should read "when we see it explode" rather than "when it explodes." Presumably it has already exploded, thousands of years ago, but is 7500 light years away from us, so we have not yet seen it.
