A couple of tips from our colleague, Tuna. (We get no commission here. This is just info.)

KILL BILL VOL. 1 UNCUT - ON SALE

If the high cost of the Japanese uncut version of "Kill Bill" has been what's holding you back from seeing this awesome film in all its NC-17 glory, then read no further. The purchase link is at the bottom. For those who need more convincing, consider these highlights:

  1. The biggest and most notable difference of the Japanese version is that the famous "House Of Blue Leaves" fighting scene is in full color. The MPAA mandated that this scene be reduced to B&W in the cut US version.
  2. There are nine additional shots in the "House Of Blue Leaves" sequence.
  3. A more violent anime sequence with Boss Matsumoto.
  4. An extended "trunk interrogation" scene with Sofie Fatale. You can probably imagine what wasn't shown in the USA version.
  5. "For the last three years, we've been selling this DVD for $39.95. Due to a temporary price drop in Japan, we're now able to offer it for only $24.95. Keep in mind that this is a Region-2 DVD, so if you don't have a region-free player, please visit our Hardware section."

RARE BEATLES ON SALE

If you're a Beatles fan, you know that copies of "Help!" and "Magical Mystery Tour" sell for between $35 and $170 on eBay. While supplies last, get these rare collectibles for only $9.95 each. Both are All-Region NTSC format, and feature the original soundtracks. In "Help!" Ringo is pursued by a crazed Asian cult who want to use him as a human sacrifice. "Magical Mystery Tour" follows a bus carrying a motley lot of eccentric characters through the English countryside, set to some of the best music in the Beatles' catalogue. There's no real plot to speak of, but the visuals and artistic nature of this Paul McCartney project have made it a classic.
