With this opening sentence, you know it has to be good! It continues, "To put it simply, no Darwin, no Hitler. The time has come to recognize that evolution is a bad idea and should be, frankly, discarded into the dustbin of history."Notice he says a "bad" idea, not an "incorrect" one. The essence of the argument is that mankind should not evaluate ideas based upon whether they are true, but rather on the basis of what misuse they can be put to.
No relativity, no atomic bomb - therefore assign relativity to the dustbin of history.
No Jesus, no Spanish inquisition - therefore ...
Wait a minute. Come to think of it, Hitler was also a devout Christian, which was an important source of his hatred for Jews. He wrote, "How terrific was His fight for the world against the Jewish poison. To-day, after two thousand years, with deepest emotion I recognize more profoundly than ever before in the fact that it was for this that He had to shed His blood upon the Cross." No Jesus, no Hitler!
Hope history has a big dustbin.
