A-Rod is considering becoming a player-owner
That's an interesting idea for a franchise that can't afford his salary. They pay him, let's say, 30 million per year for ten years, but give him only ten million in cash and pay him the other twenty in shares of the team. When he retires he owns a big chunk of the team.

Only one problem. It's against the rules. A player can't take ownership or future ownership as compensation.
