Giants To Release Barry Bonds - Sports: The Post Chronicle

"The San Francisco Giants announced Friday they would release baseball's all-time home run record holder, Barry Bonds, at the end of the 2007 season."
Will baseball's most hated man try to hang on somewhere? He can still hit. His OPS this year is 1.053 as I type this, compared to 1.051 lifetime. He says he will try to find a new home. "I would have loved nothing more than to retire as a Giant in the place where I call home and have shared so many momentous moments with all of you, but there is more baseball in me and I plan on continuing my career. My quest for a World Series ring continues."

The question is "who will want him?" I can see where an American league team with nothing to lose might take a chance on him as a DH, but if Bonds sincerely wants a World Series ring, he's not gonna get one with the Devil Rays. Is there a Series contender who would take a chance on him? (The Rockies would be an interesting choice because of Coors Field, but he'd have to play the field in the NL.)
