He's the man who created Elvis's jumpsuits. On April 23rd, 1616, the world lost Miguel de Cervantes and William Shakespeare. On July 4, 1826, our nation lost John Adams and Thomas Jefferson on the same day. Those days pale in significance compared to losing the Hula-Hoop Guy and the Elvis Jumpsuit Guy in the same week.
Well, almost the same week. One died on the 7th, the other on the 14th. Apparently news travels no faster now than it did in 1616.
"'Bill Belew changed the face of rock 'n' roll fashion,' Presley costume historian Butch Polston said."
I wonder how much the job of "Presley costume historian" pays, how many there are, and how they trained. Do you think the University of Tennessee offers courses like Elvis Wardrobe 101: The Early Years?
