The Weekend Warrior's box office analysis for February 1 - 3.

It is not expected to be an especially lively weekend at the box office. Super Bowl weekend rarely is. The number one film is expected to be The Eye, yet another tame PG-13 remake of a Japanese horror film, this time starring Jessica Alba. The predicted gross is a modest $14 million.

At least as measured by the revenues per theater, there will be one blockbuster this weekend: the Hannah Montana concert film, which is expected to finish in second place in total gross despite being in only 700 theaters.

The other two new films are Over Her Dead Body, a rom-com with Eva Longoria (prediction: 7th), and Strange Wilderness, a wacky comedy from Adam Sandler's production company which will receive only moderate distribution (prediction: just out of the top 10).
