38 of the 43 US Presidents have had non-brown eyes.

In the 20th century, the only brown-eyed Presidents were LBJ and Nixon. Prior to them, there was only John Quincy Adams, Andrew Johnson and Chester A. Arthur. Of those five men, three of them came to power when their predecessors were assassinated. (LBJ-Kennedy, Johnson-Lincoln, Arthur-Garfield. Arthur and Johnson were never elected at all, but LBJ later won a term of his own.) Since John Quincy Adams was the son of a President and therefore already had a foot in the door, that leaves Tricky Dick Nixon as the only brown-eyed man to make it to the Presidency entirely on his own steam.

That gives Barack Obama something to consider. Of course, 43 of the 43 Presidents have been white dudes, so I guess Barack is already rowing upstream.

For the record, McCain and Hillary both have blue eyes.
