His career was generally undistinguished, but he had one spectacular year which came out of nowhere, ala Brady Anderson. In 1962 he was 23-5 with a 2.81 ERA. The rest of his career he went 106-110.In the two years before and after his big season his record was only 22-22, although the Reds won the 1961 pennant, and went 86-76 in 1963.
