Kerry Wood starts working on this year's season-ending injury
The once-promising Wood, who had one of the greatest rookie seasons in pitching history, is thirty years old now, and has averaged 37 innings pitched per year over the past three years.

How good was Kerry in his rookie year? He set the all-time record for strikeouts per nine innings. Not for a rookie. For anyone. (The record has since been broken.) Many people thought he should just skip the career and report directly to Cooperstown. He managed to skip the career fairly well, but the trip to upstate New York has been postponed indefinitely.

Amazingly, he's still the all-time leader in K/9 among right handers and is second overall, trailing only The Unit.
