One of the main characters will die in Sex and the City.
Sarah Jessica Parker had previously claimed that fans will be "shocked" by the serious storylines in the film. Now Cynthia Nixon has revealed that a character will die and leave Carrie grief-stricken.

Let me take a wild guess - the dead character will not be Carrie (SJP), since people are rarely grief-stricken after their own death.

The most unexpected appearance in the film is the character of Death from The Seventh Seal. Mr. Big cannot challenge him to a chess match, because he never learned chess, so Big challenges Death to the first game he spots on a nearby bookshelf - the Hollywood Squares home game. Although Death is fooled in the early going by a particularly crafty bluff by Paul Lynde, Mr. Big finally has to concede after back-to-back misses on questions directed to Michael Landon and Zsa-Zsa.

When Carrie finds Big's lifeless, desiccated body, she throws herself out the window of their posh 5th Avenue Apartment and lands on two of the other girls, who were coincidentally about to pay a surprise visit to the the power couple. The only regular to survive is Samantha, who was also in on the planned surprise, but was distracted at the fatal moment by her sexual interlude with one of the Central Park horses.
