Sex and the City pulled in $26 million. Because of the massive advance ticket demand, many analysts made last-minute revisions to their forecasts for this film. KJ's prediction was $78 million for the weekend, and was backed with some sound reasoning and evidence.

No chick-flick has ever grossed more than $50 million on its opening weekend without the words "Harry Potter" in the title. Even the mighty Titanic, queen of all chick-flicks, could do no better than $28 million on its maiden screen voyage!
