As in all government-sponsored marijuana research, you have to read beyond the headlines: "The marijuana users in the study averaged smoking 78 to 350 marijuana cigarettes per week, based on self-reported drug history."In other words, the most casual user in their study was smoking 11 joints per day, and some were smoking as many as 50 joints per day - 3 per hour, assuming eight hours of daily sleep.
Given those facts, one should not be surprised to see some adverse effects. If you use that much of any substance, no matter how benign, you can expect that it will fuck you up over an extended period of time. If you smoke three joints per hour you don't really have to worry about heart disease. You'll probably be in a fatal accident or get lost in the wilderness by the time you're 30.
