Raymond Burr led a secret gay life, according to a new biography.Actually, it wasn't that much of a secret. Burr lived with Robert Benevedes 30+ years. It was just one of those things nobody talked about in those days. Gossip maven Hedda Hopper never wrote anything negative about Burr because he was a good guy and was always a good friend to her son William, who was Burr's co-star on Perry Mason. (Just a friend. William Hopper was straight.)
Burr went through more trouble than most to hide his nature. He actually fabricated wives and children that never existed. His Wikipedia page has the ... er ... straight dope.
