Interestingly, no great player, or even a very good one, has ever worn #37 or #40. It would also be relatively easy to become the greatest player ever to wear #12, #18, and #1.#1 surprised me. Apparently the best guy ever to wear that number was Bobby Doerr, who was a good player, but no more than that.
