Frost/Nixon (expansion): 91% positive reviews, 1100 thaters. Best picture nominee.Inkheart: 43% positive reviews, 2600 theaters. Kid-lit movie.
Revolutionary Road (expansion): 67% positive reviews, 1000 theaters. Hopeful best pic nomineee that missed the cut. (Competent, but eminently forgettable film on tired themes. It shoudl have been made 30 years ago, when the ideas were still sort of fresh.)
Underworld 2: no reviews yet, 3000 theaters. You know what to expect with this one.
Slumdog Millionaire (expansion): 95% positive reviews, 1400 theaters. The 5% who gave this a bad review demonstrate why movie critics are losing their jobs. An absolute masterpiece. The most impressive movie in many, many years, and fun to watch as well.
Other prestige films being expanded or re-released: The Dark Knight, deserving multiple nominee unjustly passed over for the big kahuna (350 theaters); Rachel Getting Married, best actress nominee (350); The Wrestler, best actor nominee (566).
