Actually, I think most of these people were lackeys, not henchmen. For example, Grand Moff Tarkin would be one of Vader's henchmen, but the storm troopers would be mere lackeys, or flunkeys, or anonymous minions at the very most.For some reason, good guys do not have henchmen or minions or lackeys. They have sidekicks and disciples.
Good guys used to have minions. The original meaning of minion was "one much loved," and it was not used pejoratively. Ol' Billy Shakespeare himself wrote in Hank 4 (part uno): "A Sonne ... Who is sweet Fortune's Minion, and her Pride." Back in the day, one might accurately have described the twelve biblical apostles as the minions of Jesus, but that sense of the word has virtually disappeared, so the statement now sounds inappropriate unless the speaker is trying to shock and/or amuse his listeners.
