A Friday best forgotten. Witch Mountain finished with less than 7 million, and Watchmen is headed for tank city. The latter dropped about 80% from last Friday, and will struggle to hit $15m for the weekend, after grossing $55m last weekend. The all-time record drop for big openers ($40m or more) is 80%, set last month by the Friday 13th remake. That is most likely out of reach, but Watchmen seems destined for second place on that list. The record for films opening at $50m or more is 69.7% set by the first Hulk film. That one is easily within reach.
