Researchers with nothing better to do compared musical tastes to SAT scores. The Brainiacs prefer Beethoven and Counting Crows. Other nerdish preferences include Bob Dylan, U2, Radiohead, and Norah Jones.The intellectually challenged preferred Gospel, Lil Wayne, Beyonce, Jazz, Justin Timberlake, Oldies and Hip Hop. The only HipHop act popular among the brighter kids was Outkast.
The only two things that seem weird to an old fart: (1) Jazz used to be the preference of hip intellectuals in my day.(2) Shouldn't more country stars be near the bottom? Maybe country music fans don't take the SATs.
