- Last House on the Left: 43% positive reviews; 2400 theaters. Remake of s 1972 Wes Craven horror film. "Rated R for sadistic brutal violence including a rape and disturbing images, language, nudity and some drug use."
- Miss March: 8% positive reviews; 1700 theaters. R-rated youthploitation comedy. Hef makes a guest appearance. "Whatever love the film shows Mr. Hefner and his Playboy empire, it is a film that is absolutely petrified of sex and uses its R rating as perhaps an eight-year-old would: to drop the F-bomb constantly and to show poop."
- Race to Witch Mountain: 39% positive reviews, 3200 theaters. PG rated reboot of a Disney franchise, starring the Rock.
