TMZ releases Carrie Prejean's topless photos - sorta

Here's the deal: they published the gallery, but with little stars over the nipples. God knows why. I'm sure they must have some twisted logic.

TMZ reported on Sunday that Prejean's lawyers have distributed a cease-and-desist letter demanding removal of the first two pictures (not these) that hit the internet. According to the attorneys, "One of the displayed images of Ms. Prejean was illegally taken under false pretenses when she was a 17-year-old minor and unable to consent to its creation. The other image depicts Ms. Prejean's likeness but is not an actual photograph. It is an electronic manipulation ("photoshopped") of her image created without her consent."

The response: "Your client's publicity rights are substantially inferior to the right of the public to consider, discuss, agree and/or disagree with Ms. Prejean's actions and views. This is not conduct for which your client's consent is required."

Irrespective of her views on morality, I believe that when she entered the pageant she had to sign a legal document certifying that she had never posed topless. Therefore, these pics should disqualify her on the basis of a deceptive application. The good news? Nobody cares.
