Interesting idea. Jeff would play Rooster Cogburn, the role made famous by John Wayne in True Grit. If you're scoring at home, that's The Dude and The Duke.Did you know that Jeff has never won an Oscar, despite a solid career in just about every possible type of role in just about every possible genre? Jeff wasn't even nominated for The Big Lebowski, despite creating one of the most memorable characters in screen history. On the other hand, he probably would not have won in a fair world either, since that was the same year as Norton's tour de force in American History X. As it turns out, Norton didn't win either. The Oscar went to the grade-B Mr Bean, Roberto Benigni.
Bridges was nominated for Oscars four other times, spanning 30 years. He's actually getting to the age where the Academy may have to give him one of those special honorary old guy Oscars that they have to give to talented people like Peter O'Toole to atone for all the times they snubbed them in the past to give awards to untalented doofuses like Roberto Benigni.

Will the Coens team with Jeff Bridges again?
