Hugh Jackman Says No To Repeat Hosting The Oscars

Hugh Jackman Says No To Hosting The Oscars This Year

How do you know you've made it in show biz? When you can afford to turn down a job hosting the Oscar telecast, which may be the most-watched single live program in the world.

I agree with his decision, though. Wolvie is talented and did fine, but I don't think he has much more to offer that we haven't seen.

You probably saw that the Golden Globes hired Ricky Gervais in an attempt to establish their show as the hipper Oscar alternative. Perhaps that will prompt Oscar to loosen his tie a bit, or perhaps it will drive the academy deeper into last year's "classy" mode to stress the contrast between them and the foreign press group.
