This more or less rings the death knell for once hallowed Miramax. Disney plans to eliminate about 50 jobs at Miramax this year, leaving only about 20 employees. New Line, Paramount Vantage, and Focus have all been shuttered, and The Weinstein company is in serious panic mode, thus leaving Fox Searchlight and Sony Classics as the only vestiges of the studios' indie vogue from the 90s.
