You look at his 8-6 record and you think, "He was injured." Fact of the matter is, he made 30 starts, only 2 or 3 fewer than usual. The odd fact was that he got a decision in only 47% of his starts, with a win in only 27%. Prior to 2009 he had 193 decisions in 241 starts (80%), with 129 wins (54% of his starts). In his first 11 starts last year he had only three decisions (1-2)! (27% with decisions, 9% with wins!) And while he did not pitch as well as he has in previous years, he was not entirely awful either. He allowed no runs in two of those eleven starts, one run in another, and got four no-decisions in that stretch in games where he left with a lead. For the entire year he left 17 games with a lead but picked up only eight wins. In comparison, Sabathia left 20 games with a lead, and got 19 wins. Thank you, Yankee bullpen.

I just happened to notice: Roy Oswalt had one of the stranger seasons in baseball history.
