Blame Cleavage: Why Networks Rejected Plus-Size Lingerie Ad (Updated) - Lane bryant lingerie - Jezebel

"ABC is issuing a 'fat'-wa against full-figured models"

Lane Bryant produced a sexy commercial showing a plus-size model trying on bras and panties. They claim that ABC and Fox rejected it for "Dancing With The Stars" and "American Idol" because they are biased against ... er ... "curvy" women. According to their reasoning, both networks air Victoria's Secret ads with skinny models in even skimpier underwear. Both networks denied the bias charge, and Fox caved. They will air the ad at the end of next Wednesday's "American Idol."

I'm not sure I approve of the term "curvy women" as a euphemism for "fat chicks." Salma Hayek and Kim Kardashian are curvy, but are not plus-sized. Kirstie Alley is plus-sized but not curvy; she's just lumpy. Big difference.
