Haven't thought about him in years. He was already an old man when I was in college. I guess that explains why he's now 97! It seemed like he was on TV non-stop in the 50s and early 60s, although nobody could quite figure out why. I guess it was because everyone just seemed to like him, even though he had no special talents.

No special talent, but very likeable and unthreatening guy and therefore ubiquitous.
Although now that I think about it, Regis is pretty close to that same generation.

RIP: TV legend Art Linkletter, age 97
