Strasburg is for real

In front of a sell-out crowd, the kid struck out 14 in seven innings, with no walks.

The record for Ks in a debut is 15. Strasburger would certainly have broken that if they had let him. He had only thrown 94 pitches, but the team didn't want him to run up a big pitch count, so he was pulled after seven, despite the fact that he was getting stronger - he struck out the last seven guys he faced and was hitting 100 on the gun!

The previous record for strikeouts in a debut with no walks was only ten.
