He couldn't find the plate, walking six in 2.0 innings. He allowed six earned runs, which inflated his ERA to 2.75, dropping him to eighth in the league in that category. That still doesn't sound bad until you see his ERA by month:
- April 0.79
- May 0.78
- June 4.41
- July 7.59
The 4.41 in June is deceptive. He actually started out well that month. His ERA was 1.15 for the season through June 22nd. Since then - 7.64. He has now been rocked in 5 of his last six starts, although he managed to emerge from that period with two wins, one loss, and three no-decisions. Apart from that one good start, he got shellacked in a 10-2 loss, and got the win in a 10-6 victory. He avoided the loss in two games which his team lost 9-8 and 11-8, and he did not get the win in a game they won 8-6.The Rockies are 1-3 in games started by Jimenez in July.
