That's a lot of plate appearances to maintain such a torrid pace. On May 31st he was 54 for 192 - a .281 average. He's now 177 for 492, so he's had 123 hits in 300 at bats and has added 76 points to his average, which is now .360. (It may be slightly different by the time you read this.) He batted .454 in June and .418 in July, but has slumped to a measly .351 in August.I gotta tell ya that I had no idea he was that good. I know he batted in 130 runs one year, and that's impressive, but he's moved to a whole 'nother level since then. And he's just about the only one on that level. Even Pujols and Cabrera are in his shadow at the moment.
