Jose Bautista is now officially Brady Anderson II
Bautista hit #50 today. His previous three years: 15-15-13.

The two men have followed astoundingly similar paths. When Brady hit 50 in 1996, his previous three years were 13-12-16.

Brady slugged .637 in his big year, but his previous best slugging average of his lifetime was .449, so he went up .188. Bautista is slugging .617 this year. His previous best is a scanty .420, so he's up .197.

It's interesting to wonder how Bautista will follow up. Brady Anderson dropped right back to his old self after that big year. His next two years produced home run totals of 18-18.
