There's only one film in wide distribution this week: Resident Evil Afterlife. It is expected to take first place by a wide margin with $28 million in 2800 theaters. No other film is expected to gross as much as a paltry $7 million.
This marks the second straight week with no film for the tween, teen or family markets. Like all of last week's films, Afterlife is rated R.
Note: I skipped the link to Rotten Tomatoes this week. There is not a single review of Afterlife. Why would the distributors bother to show it to critics? The pundits hated all the previous films in this series, so you can bet they'll hate this one as well. Hell, they'll probably hate it even more now that they have to wait to see it.
