The box office is very lively for this time of year. Last week Jackass 3-D set the all-time record for a non-holiday fall weekend. Paranormal Activity 2, the only wide release this week, has a good shot to make that record short-lived. PA2 took in $20 million on Friday alone, and the record is $50m for the weekend. PA2's Friday total is actually lower than J3-D's $22 last Friday, but J3-D dropped quite rapidly, so a new record definitely is a reasonable possibility, if not a certain one.Meanwhile, Jackass took in a respectable $7.6M to reach $73M overall. It has already passed the first Jackass movie!
