It's not really surprising, since students 18-21 can drink legally in almost every other developed country in the world. In many European countries, even high school exchange students (16 or older) can buy some form of alcohol, and some European countries have no minimum drinking age at all, although they impose a minimum age to purchase the hootch. Here's some info on Denmark, for example: "To buy alcohol in stores one must be 16. There is no drinking age, only a purchase age, and an adult can buy alcohol for a minor."Scoop's tips for language study abroad:Tip for Parents: make your kid study Arabic! Otherwise, you can expect them to booze it up. The downside of the Arabic thing, however, is that if they do decide to acquire alcohol illegally, they could get beheaded, which could severely impair their language skills.
Tip for Kids: study Armenian! Armenia has no minimum ages established for alcohol purchase or consumption. Be excellent to one another and party, on dudes!
