Weekend Box Office Results for October 15-17, 2010

Weekend Box Office Results for October 15-17, 2010
Jackass 3-D plummeted after its incredible Friday opening: $22m on Friday; $17m on Saturday, $11m on Sunday. The start was so strong, however, that it still managed to set the records for the best October weekend and the best non-holiday fall weekend. It originally appeared headed to a weekend that would squash those records, but when the smoke had cleared, it had barely managed to squeak by ($50m to $48m).

The Bruce Willis movie, RED, actually got a little stronger as the weekend progressed, and ended up with a respectable $22m, about as expected.

The anti-Obama "documentary," I Want Your Money, did not make the top twenty. In fact, it grossed about as much in 537 theaters as Hereafter grossed in 6! (Hereafter's release was a sneak preview of a new Eastwood film starring Matt Damon. It will be in some 2000 theaters next Friday.)
