New York Yankees won't offer Derek Jeter arbitration
I don't blame them. They already offered him about double what he's worth and he turned it down. I would call his bluff and let him become a free agent. That would determine his value on the open market, after which they can still offer him more than his fair market value (which would be much less than they already offered), and he will be free to choose. Jeter is simply playing an emotion card - "Oh, sure I suck now, but look at all I've meant to you in the past." True enough, but they already paid him fairly for that at the time.
