Human Zoos or so-called "Negro Villages"

Human Zoos, aka "Negro Villages" from a century ago.

There are two ways to react to things like this. My first reaction is horror and embarrassment at the ignorance and racism of those times, but my second is optimism. Why? Because I realize that the human race is capable of making significant progress. As deep as our world seems to suck from time to time, we used to be a helluva lot worse, so we do learn from our errors, and our curiosity keeps us searching for clearer perspectives.

The problem is that we learn so slowly, and technology gradually escalates the cost of our errors.
